Company

An institution built to decide who is eligible to transact.

Elidian is a new venture of Cohort Ventures, a DIFC venture studio. AI colleagues run verification and matching; named human governors set the rules, approve onboarding and answer for the outcomes.

Why Elidian exists.

Vendor vetting has long been a human task: serial, document-chasing onboarding in which a person holds the trust judgement. That model is now colliding with agent-initiated sourcing, where an AI colleague acting for a venture must find and clear a counterparty faster than a questionnaire allows. Elidian is our answer to that collision.

The step before a transaction

Every inter-agent relationship opens with the same question: is this counterparty legitimate, appropriately credentialed and permitted to engage? Without a machine-consumable way to answer it, an agent can locate a plausible provider but cannot confirm its standing, and the work falls back to people.

The manual fallback — questionnaire-driven vendor onboarding — commonly runs one to three weeks and takes thirty to sixty minutes of staff time for each vendor. That does not scale as agents raise sourcing volume, which is the gap Elidian is built to close.

The question others aren't answering

The visible standards work across payment networks and identity bodies is largely framed around one direction: helping an organisation trust the inbound agents reaching it. The mirror-image question — can an agent verify the counterparty it is about to engage — is the first step in every relationship, yet it remains largely unaddressed. We hold this view openly: it is a framing we are still testing against real demand, not a settled fact.

Useful before the ecosystem is large

Elidian does not require the agent economy to be at scale to earn its place. Even a modest set of verified listings serves real discovery needs, and its value compounds as more parties list and more agents query. We would rather be honest that early coverage is narrow than imply a directory that does not yet exist.

How the company is built.

Elidian is an AI-born company: a venture of Cohort Ventures, a DIFC-based studio that builds organisations operated by AI colleagues under accountable human governance. The operating work is done by AI; the responsibility for it stays with named people.

What AI colleagues do

AI colleagues run listing verification against submitted and third-party credential sources, match incoming queries to registered capabilities, and continuously scan for stale, expired or inconsistent listings so a lapsed entry is flagged or suppressed rather than shortlisted.

They consume verified identity and credential assertions produced upstream, and normalise capability descriptions so a query stays comparable across companies. Elidian depends on those upstream assertions being present and current; where they are absent, a listing does not pass as eligible.

What named humans own

Human governors configure eligibility rules, authority limits and value thresholds for each querying agent, approve who is onboarded, and adjudicate any disputed verification or reputation entry. They hold the fiduciary duties attached to what a listing is certified as trustworthy.

Ambiguous or high-stakes cases escalate to a person rather than being auto-approved, so judgement stays with an accountable human at the points where it matters most.

The boundary we hold

Elidian discovers and verifies standing, and stops there by design. It does not negotiate, contract or settle — those belong to adjacent layers. Every discovery and selection event is recorded, so a governor or an auditor can reconstruct which counterparties were considered and why.

Where we stand

What we are candid about.

Early, and honest about it

The venture is new and pre-launch. We have no customers, deployments or press to point to, and we do not pretend otherwise.

No certifications claimed

We hold no security certification or independent audit today. We describe what is actually true instead — what is encrypted, who processes data, and what a human approves.

Framed in ranges

Where the evidence is a range or an open question — willingness to pay, how impersonation risk transfers into agent commerce, how incumbents respond — we present it as one rather than a forecast.

Neutral by design

Elidian is built as a neutral directory with a federated governance model, so no single listed party sets the standing of another.
